Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Professional Development Program
Planning for Cohort Seven REGISTRATION OPEN AND FIRST COURSE DATE SET!
Attention Orthopedic Physical Therapists!
We are pleased to announce we have the first course date set for Cohort Seven of the OMPT Professional Development Program. The first class will be planned for September 18-19, 2021 at Bellin Health in Green Bay, WI. The course will be face-to-face following the most recent COVID-19 CDC guidelines.
Details and registration for the program are provided here: Click here
This continuing education series focuses on developing a consistent framework you use when examining your patients, on developing competence in manual therapy skills and in learning patient management concepts that will allow you to optimize your clinical effectiveness and most importantly patient outcomes.
The program is taught by three clinically active and experienced Fellowship trained Physical Therapists. It is appropriate for anyone who practices in outpatient orthopedic clinical settings. We love working with both seasoned and entry-level professionals. For the entry-level clinician working in the orthopedic setting this is a great way to great start your career and enhance both their hands-on treatment and examination skills in a structured program. For seasoned professionals it is a quality opportunity for those who need to get back up to date with current evidence, practice, and refine skills they have been exposed to but never mastered. Simply put, experts do the basics exceptionally well; that is our goal, to help you master the basics.
If someone is unable to make the first course date, like all other courses in the program, they are able to attend any future course free of charge. Also, if they miss one course any of the remaining courses may be taken, even if out-of-turn. While the courses in the program are designed to build on one another, they are also designed to allow participants to successfully attend even if they missed a previous course.
Of note, APTA Wisconsin is committed to providing value to its members. The OMPT Professional Development Program is one example. We understand some of the potential financial strains COVID-19 has placed on many for professional development. As such, the typical payment structure program, half due prior to the first course and half prior to the fourth course, has flexibility. We are willing and able to work with individuals on different payment options to make the program a possibility.
