Description

Please join us to discuss and vote on updates to the APTA Wisconsin bylaws!

Recently the APTA introduced an update to the bylaws through a model bylaws system. There were several goals of this change:

Objectives for APTA Model Bylaws Revisions:

  1. Guide alignment with APTA bylaws.
  2. Address necessary compliance changes.
  3. Provide clarity in approach across the federated model.
  4. Contemporize the model bylaws framework and language.
  5. Highlight best practices while allowing for flexibility in accordance with state law and component practices.

This led to a complete overhaul of the APTA Wisconsin bylaws. Most of these changes were just placement changes or editorial in nature, but there are few key changes that we want you to be aware of.

  • Regular membership meeting requirement will be reduced from twice a year to once per year
  • The nominating committee will be changed from 7 members to 4 members and terms will increase from 2 to 3 years
  • One Physical Therapist Assistant may serve as a chapter delegate at the APTA House of Delegates
  • All terms for elected positions will begin January 1st
