Description

 

This dynamic and fun two-hour session will use case-based learning, covering a real-world, outpatient orthopedic case to facilitate an active learning experience. Application of patient-centered and evidence-informed practice will be included with an emphasis on clinical reasoning and meta-cognitive processes utilizing the test retest model. The session is designed to help learners understand how to effectively obtain a thorough subjective examination that supports hypothesis development, planning of an appropriate objective examination and supportive treatment that seek to implement the hypothetico-deductive reasoning model. 

Patient presenting to physical therapy with referral from his GP for lumbar strain 8 weeks post incidence of severe low back pain with an apparent lateral shift.  Patient has a 20 year history of similar sx’s occurring 4-6x a year.  Despite having a long history of severe episodic low back pain, they have never undergone treatment of any kind.

About The Speaker(s)

Jeremiah Weber, PT, DPT, OCS, Fellow In Training, graduated with a DPT from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2011. Following graduation, Jeremiah began practicing in outpatient orthopedics in both the private practice and hospital outpatient settings. He earned his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) in 2014. In 2018, Jeremiah began serving as adjunct faculty in Carroll University’s Physical Therapy program assisting in all orthopedic courses. In May of 2022, Jeremiah started fellowship training in orthopedic and manual physical therapy through Bellin College.
