Southwest District presents, "Understanding Financial Systems and Health Behaviors of Practitioners and Patients"

Course Objectives:
- Attendees will be able to explain four internal behavioral pathways that typically lead to positive outcomes financially and physically over time.
- Attendees will demonstrate understanding of how of how social "upstream" investments and policies can remove barriers to access for "non-essential" wellness services, which includes financial planning/counseling and physical therapy.
- Attendees will become "conversational" not fluent in the financial services "menu" and can explain how financial systems shape patient health behaviors (including seeking PT).
- Attendees will leave the presentation with a burgeoning idea of how to align personal values and professional practice to optimize financial health.
About The Speaker(s)
Brett Heaton Juarez is a Certified Financial Planner serving clients nationwide. He draws on his background in education, counseling, and social science to empower individuals, nonprofits, families, and businesses to embrace abundance and inform financial choices aligned with their core values.
Daniel Deuel, PT, DPT, M.ED., MPH, is a physical therapist with UW Health specializing in various chronic pain conditions. Before entering the physical therapy world, Daniel was a Teach For America Corps member, and a founding member of the Milwaukee Excellence Charter School (now a part of the Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy program). Daniel is passionate about maximizing the potential of the physical therapy profession to empower patients and optimize health outcomes.
