APTA Wisconsin Case Based Learning Experience; Chronic Low Back Pain
Description
This dynamic and fun two-hour session will use case-based learning, covering a real-world, outpatient orthopedic case to facilitate an active learning experience. Application of patient-centered and evidence-informed practice will be included with an emphasis on clinical reasoning and meta-cognitive processes utilizing the test retest model. The session is designed to help learners understand how to effectively obtain a thorough subjective examination that supports hypothesis development, planning of an appropriate objective examination and supportive treatment that seek to implement the hypothetico-deductive reasoning model.
About The Speaker(s)
Nate Tanney, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2012. From there, he went on to complete his Orthopedic Residency in 2014 through Evidence in Motion at Bellin Health in Green Bay, WI. Nate became board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2014 and he also began mentoring residents and DPT students that same year. He started the Evidence in Motion Manual Therapy Fellowship in 2015 in Grass Valley, CA and completed his fellowship training in April of 2018. Nate has been teaching continuing education courses since 2018 and currently teaches as adjunct faculty at Bellin College DPT school. He currently works for Emplify Health treating his patients and mentoring DPT students, residents, and fellows-in-training. He lives in Green Bay, WI with his wife and four children.
