In this course, you will deepen your understanding of the power of the core with both a lecture and lab component. As therapists, we are experts on the importance of the transverse abdominals, but this course will also bring you into the bowl of the pelvis. You will leave confident in your skills to assist patients in engaging their pelvic floor and how to address dysfunction at the sacrum and sacroiliac joints perpetuated by some yoga poses with possible pose alterations to fit clients with SI dysfunction or to prevent SI irritation. This course will take you through assessment via observation and manual skills and provide ideas for teaching our patients to link breath and movement to enhance the support of the core and pelvic floor—versus utilizing unhealthy breath patterns and bearing down to "feel" strong.
