Wisconsin Physical Therapy Political Action Committee

Overview

WPT-PAC was formed to empower physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to be more involved in the determination of state laws and policies. APTA Wisconsin decided to create a mechanism that would allow the physical therapy profession to channel its financial and grassroots support to help ensure that Wisconsin’s political leaders are aware of and responsive to the physical therapy profession's goals and viewpoints.

It is your personal contribution (from a personal checking account or personal credit card) that WPT-PAC uses for campaign contributions and campaign fundraisers that put our lobbyists and members face-to-face with our state’s politicians. Although WPT-PAC can accept business/corporate contributions, those can only be used to pay the administrative costs of WPT-PAC. Administrative costs could include staff expenses, fundraising event costs, etc. It is illegal to use business/corporate contributions for contributions to state political campaigns.

Help us protect and promote the practice of physical therapy in Wisconsin with your personal contribution today. Thank you for your support.

Reasons to Support WPT-PAC

  • Block non-licensed personnel infringement on physical therapy
  • Demonstrate professional responsibility
  • Secure a voice for our profession
  • Step up and advocate for PT -- Be a player, not a spectator in PT
  • To assure money and funds are allocated for legal/political issues in PT promotion
  • To be on the forefront of political and healthcare reforms and have the resources to execute
  • To effectively counter act towards opposing causes and groups that may suppress or try to stop our purpose
