The Physical Therapy Program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites members of the West Central District of APTA WI to a presentation of student research. In addition to the posters, two PT residents from the Gundersen Sports Medicine Residency will be presenting different research studies that they have conducted over the last year. Please see topics below.

The meeting will be hosted in Room 2006 of the Health Science Center at 1300 Badger St. in La Crosse. Pizza and refreshments will be provided!

We look forward to hosting this West Central District meeting and sharing our research efforts with you.

Registration is now open for the Bridge the Gap: Translating Evidence into Acute Care Practice Conference in Chicago, IL on May 3-5, 2024. This year's conference keynote address titled, "Preventing Disability After Critical Illness: Realizing the Value of Human Investment in Bedside Clinical Care" will be delivered by Dr. Bhakti Patel from the University of Chicago Medicine. Please review our tentative schedule on our conference webpage for updates as we finalize sessions. Be sure to register early as this conference is open to the first 96 registrants only.

This course is designed for clinicians and students, enabling participants to become better users of the research. Participants will be able to make detailed and informed judgements regarding the validity and the results of randomized control trials and to consider what those results will mean to their practice.

Speaker Bio

Ben Armstrong PT, DPT, OCS

Benjamin Armstrong is a physical therapist at UPH-Meriter in Madison, Wisconsin.  He obtained his Doctorate of Physical therapy from Emory University, and Master of Science in Athletic Training from Indiana State University.  He completed a residency at UW Hospitals and Clinics and UnityPoint Health Meriter physical therapy orthopedic residency and is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist.  He is a certified clinical instructor through the APTA and is a board member, clinical instructor, and clinical mentor at UW Hospitals and Clinics and UnityPoint Health Meriter physical therapy orthopedic residency.   He has been involved in the southwest district for the past seven years, most recently serving as Chair.  He has also been involved with the ABPTRFE as a site team member for the past two years.

This course will take place at the Marshfield Medical Center at 1000 North Oak Avenue, Marshfield, WI 54449.  It will also be offered as a live webinar.
