Description

The Back to Basics Lecture Series is back! The aim of this lecture series is to provide learners with “things you wish you remembered from school” to help individuals feel more comfortable knowing what to look for, when to refer and a few clinical pearls to take away.

Join us virtually on Wednesday, May 29 from 7-8:30 pm as expert Dr. Caitlyn Anderson, PT, DPT, GCS, NCS presents on acute care after a brief District business meeting.

About The Speaker(s)

Caitlyn Anderson, PT, DPT, GCS, NCS, is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Utah. She has board certifications in Neurologic and Geriatric specialties and has teaching roles in Neuromuscular Management, Cardiopulmonary Management, and Functional Neuroanatomy with additional interests in complex patient simulation, interprofessional education, and differential diagnosis. Caitlyn received her BS in Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University in 2014. She has 10+ years clinical experience primarily in intensive care units (medical, surgical, neurosurgery, Covid-19), emergency room, acute care, and complex inpatient rehabilitation. She was a senior therapist and content developer for NYU Langone's acute care physical therapy residency, leading several quality improvement projects and initiatives. Since transitioning to academia, she maintains her clinical specializations by treating patients in acute care, the emergency room, and inpatient rehabilitation environments. She has extensive speaking experience on local, regional, and national platforms including the state conferences, Education Leadership Conference, Combined Sections Meeting, Johns Hopkins ICU Conference, and the Annual Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Conference. Primary presentation topics include differential diagnosis, dosage for medically complex populations, advanced circulatory support, and clinical decision-making in the ICU.
